Archive Material
The archive library is still under construction. The International Laverda Owners Club have kindly loaned me some of their archive material on the 500s which I am in the process of converting to suitable files for the web. I the meantime if you have any articles which you think should be in the library please scan them and send them to me and I`ll be pleased to add them to the site.
Malcolm’s Story; My Laverda Years
This is the story of Malc Wheeler’s epic ride in the 1983 TTF2 told in his own words which Malcolm wrote in 2005 for the ILOC magazine.
Malcolm has kindly agreed to let ‘My Laverda Years’ be reproduced on Laverda500.cc. It tells the fascinating story of the development of the Harris framed Montjuic by talented engineer Cleve Brightman. The end result of Cleve’s hard work culminated with Malcolm coming home 5th in the Formula 2 TT and lapping the TT circuit at a shade under 105mph, the fastest lap speed ever achieved by a Laverda rider on the Island.
